Hotel Miramar
Garden refuge
The Lady of the Camellias - and her fountain in the Miramar.

Vacations in Abbazia under the sign of the camellia. It is the symbol of Opatija and also plays a major role in the beautifully designed gardens of our hotel: the camellia. In spring, it bathes the entire city on the Croatian Adriatic in a sea of pink blossoms: this legendary and literary flower, which conquered Central Europe 200 years ago and has now become the city's floral trademark.
The hotel garden a real feast for the eyes
A stroll through the Miramar garden at this time of year is therefore not only a real feast for the eyes, but also a feast for the eyes all year round, where it is green and sprouting and fragrant - and also splashes and sparkles a little. Not least because of the central element, also dedicated to the camellia: the camellia fountain created in 2007 by Viennese water sculptor Professor Hans Muhr from a single block of Sölker marble.
The reward was not long in coming - in 2010, our hotel garden was voted the most beautiful garden in Opatija. And the following year, the artist Yasna Skorup Krneta created her ambient installation "Neptune in the lap of the imperial garden Miramar".
The overall work of art is complemented by the Europe Peace Gate - Prof. Hans Muhr used 28 stones from 28 different EU countries (the stone from Great Britain is also included) for this unique water gate as an entrance to the Miramar hotel garden.

When it's so green and blooms so lushly, it's springtime for the senses and smells of the sea.
